Summary

The Systems Coordination Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and configuration of application systems and operational processes to ensure business systems functionality meets or exceeds the needs of Yamhill Community Care (YCCO) staff and key business partners. The Systems Coordination Specialist works closely with the Information Systems Sr. Director, the Systems Configuration Analyst, the Information Systems (IS) team, YCCO’s management team, and other colleagues, to understand business and operational needs. This position will provide configuration, testing and validation support of technical resources focused on supplying efficient and effective application systems and tools to the YCCO staff and key business partners. 

Essential Duties

  1. Develops strong relationships with YCCO colleagues and strategic partners to analyze current system functionality needs and underlying operational processes.
  2. Develops and maintains processes to ensure the integrity and reliability of configuration options of software systems utilized by YCCO staff and strategic partners. 
  3. Understands application security functionality and assigns user security access for numerous software systems adhering to policies and procedures of YCCO. 

Job Duties

  • Configures and monitors applications systems functionality and performance with minimal oversight.
  • Monitors applications system activity and implement changes to ensure efficient performance and overall data integrity.
  • Identifies and clearly communicates ramifications of actual and proposed configuration changes have on business processes, data, and reporting.
  • Works with IS leadership to evaluate and monitor application systems to ensure alignment with strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Organizes and leads testing plans of new and upgraded application systems, focuses on meeting business process needs and data integrity.
  • Establishes and performs quality assurance testing, validating against established expectations and meeting contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Maintains documentation of configuration changes; adheres to policies and procedures governing system configuration change processes.
  • Participates with business units in development of training materials, documentation, and process workflows.
  • Assists operational teams with application systems functionality questions regarding current, proposed, and future work processes.
  • Utilizes understanding of software functionality and individual position responsibilities sufficiently to identify and enforce HIPAA minimum necessary protocol.
  • Consults with the Quality Assurance and Compliance team regarding new and/or challenging access requests.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in application systems configuration, preferably within a health plan setting. 

     OR:

  • Any combination of education and experience that would qualify candidate for the position.

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years of experience in application systems configuration, preferably within a health plan setting. Demonstrated experience driving information technology improvement projects.
  • Knowledgeable of HIT enabling health plan operations such as Enrollment and Eligibility systems, Claims Processing systems, and Utilization / Disease / Care Management systems.
  • Experience working within a government-sponsored health plan, preferably a managed care plan, or very familiar with health plan operations.
